I asked the classmate who gave this to me. "So cute, then, how can I eat it?" She laughed and answered back, "Do you know what is written on it?" "No?" "It's wish for long life! So just eat it!"

甲 is 60 years in Chinese and in some Asian countries. Usually people is expected to be served feast by his or her family when he or she becomes 60 years old. Which means, "Oh, you live an enough life to have a good banquet!" Now everybody lives much longer than 60 that it's so young age that 60's feast is not so serious.

By the way, this cute and small cake reads 二 and 甲, which means double 60, that is 120 years! Oh dear. "I don't want to live too much long." "Oh, you don't?" But I know it's a lie. I hope I can live longer enough to see how the result of my life is ending. So, I ate it up at once.

Herb and fish

Typhoon is passing southern Taiwan now. It has rained yesterday and night. I was surprised when I opened the window to feed my fish in the morning. Water in the tank went up almost to the neck. It rained last night more than I have thought.

Several months ago my friend gave those fish for me. Only two of them were left alive now. Mostly it's because of my carelessness. I was stopping to raise fish when the last fish eventually has died. But my friend concerned me, or tried to encourage me whatever, so that brought me new 7 fish from her parent's house.

I don't like to see pets or any "life" is leaving me. It hurts me always. That was the reason why my mom also never raised any pet again since the last dog was stolen when I was very young. Me too.

I don't know until when the final two fish out of my window can survive. But I know I'll not be happy at every moment of their deaths. I just want to grow some simple herb instead. Maybe plants are rather alright to me than pets.

dreaming

One of my bad habits is collecting small things. I used to collect stamps, stones, match boxes, even ash tray. However, my mom was terribly quick cleaner. She is a good person, but she doesn't understand somebody is collecting things ever. She hates to keep older stuffs.

So that I never succeeded to keep my collection in my room. When some numbers of any collection was piled in my drawer, she immediately dumped away one day. Not only just collections but also my emotional soveniors, reminissinces, and fancy stuffs has been disappeared without scream just one moment.

The destiny of my books has walked long and hard way too. It's a really long story that I don't want to share all that bitter history. My father's books were also experienced similar process. So some parts are in unknown community library, some were sent to unknown place and rotten away. My books are eventually in my parent's house now. But there were a few crises before. My dear books...

On the contrary, she is amazingly big book lover. She reads many books. Every time she bought us some books whenever she came back from downtown. The problem is that she doesn't want to keep "not new stuffs" in her place. Can you understand? Believe or not, she one day threw away a set of classic antique gramophone without any notice to us. It was made almost 70 years before in Europe. Once again, I have to say she is really really a great music lover. She is the opener who made me knew what classic music is.

My dvd and music cd collections are now in Taiwan after many intracacies. And I'm buying books months by months. Of course, I know my life will be more alienized from now on. My "home" is not yet settled anywhere. Rather, one more long journey is left beside me over if my plan is successful.

Mom is my best supporter. She always encourages, cares, and loves me. But i cannot send my new books and others back to her. Sending cost is of course the first problem, but the other reason is that my parents house is no my home since I had left there long time ago.

But I dreamt of an old pattern of behavior by my mom sometime. What if I stay there, and from time to time my stuffs are disappeard, I become crazy a while, but still somebody cooks warm food for me everyday. Well, dream is dream, yeah?

allergy

Weather is getting colder. My room is toward North, which means very cold. People would think Taiwan locates sub-tropical that it must be hot every season. But the fact it that African countries even has winter time. Well, returning to my room, it is also very hot in Summer. That's the rooms which there windows are toward North.

As the last year, I attached some Styrofoams on the wall. I felt better last night. I feel easily uncomfortable with nose because I have a kind of allergy with cold wind, chilly air, dust, and chafe. I am absolutely alright when I go out among snow storm, typhoon, or icy air. But Some kinds of sudden small irritation makes hit by allergy.

Syndrome is a long series of sneeze, fever, getting dizzy, that I even have to lie down for a while occasionally.

Do I look sick? Actually I am, and I'm not. I would like to ask anybody as well as doctor whether allergy is sickness or not. My daily life is quite OK and the hit of allergy is approximately striking me for just 10 or 15 minutes.

How about love, hate, disappointment, desire, boring, happiness, raze, and so on. They seem like allergy, don't they?

One of the great soccer player from Korea. He is a member of Manchester United. I know many of Asian fans are crazy about MU. His nickname is 'air tank' because his soccer is amazingly energetic.

I found this advertisement near Taiwan Literature museum. There are many shoes shops and display these kinds of ads. I was much excited than I found some movie star, singers in the other ads in Taiwan. They are the result of business in some sense, but this young man became a legend of ground by himself. Only by his sweat and talent. It's real.

On last Thursday and Friday, I went to city stadium to join school sports day. Not only my small school, but also many junior and high schools belong to the same foundation were crowded in that big stadium.

I enjoyed sunshine, games, and people. Especially, I like to see young girls are playing, running, shouting, laughing, chatting, jumping, cheering, yes, cherishing their rare opportunity that they don't have to go to classroom and study.

Win or lose, they enjoyed games and got happy all the time. It is the power of young age. Whether their appearances are good or not, they were all the same to me. Whether their true character are good or bad, they were all pretty and bright.

Well, what I tried to say was, I enjoyed two days there.

One more thing, I found they didn't hang KMT flag this year. It's a good sign. Two years before, exactly at same stadium, I was so uncomfortable because the flag was hung above the PCT banner. I've asked many teachers why, but they just told me it's a regular ceremony, which meant nothing. They said nobody cares.

It's no doubt a big improvement. It's the result of democracy as well. They are removing the old values of KMT and its rule bit by bit as if CPC(中國石油) became 中油. I believe it's small but big step for the independence even though many mainlanders still resist and refuse. In some sense I understand them. I believe it's one of the substancial stage not only for Taiwanese but also themselves.
